Black Dolls Project

The world is sick. Like for any disease, rather treat the disease than the symptoms.
The disease is not skin color. Mistreating individuals according to their skin color is a symptom of evil. Madness is an imbalance. So, it is necessary to restore Balance to cure ourselves. To eradicate an epidemic, one treats each individual until all are healed.

Black Dolls Project, is a body of work composed of three photographic series. Poupées Noires is the reality of persons classified as non-white. They are Dolls. Flora is the imaginary that is inculcated and inoculated, shaping the reality that surrounds them. Mental-Cide is the terminal phase, letting them disarticulated, both psychically and physically. The individual develops reactions which lead him to mistreat himself and to mistreat the other.

Are we ready to accept our condition?
Are we ready to begin the healing process?
Do we aim at producing justice?

SERIES Nº1

Poupées Noires

Poupées Noires is a series of ten portraits that forces us to wonder about our relationships between individuals and how these relationships are built. Let’s not beat about the bush, Poupées Noires clearly raises the issue of racism. What is racism? And how does it work? It is therefore not only a matter of art and aesthetics, but a profound reflection on the state of relations between human beings in order to raise awareness and find solutions to the problem of racism.

SERIES Nº2

Flora

Flora evokes the idea of the so called «wonderful». The visual universe refers to the concept of «mythology», by proposing evocations that take their source in the imaginary and the real. The purpose is the idea of being singularized in an ideological system that advocates globalization, but a globalization which ignores the other. Indeed, this so-called globalization defined by a single group of people who dictates and defines human kind while is pushing men to denigrate themselves. Flora questions the so-called idea of «cultural» subjugation. Here is the question of the meaning, representation and function of the patterns of languages that serve to articulate the thought of the individual, to structure his imaginary and his representation. Under the rule of this system of confusion, what is the point when there is no view to point out?

SERIES Nº3

Mental-Cide

The photographic series Mental-Cide exposes the passage of a state that would be Madness to find another state that would be Balance. It turns out that the context in which individuals evolve today is toxic to the human psyche. This state of dementia is a destruction of our brain, our psyche, our mind; Destruction, which therefore does not allow the establishment of balanced but unbalanced relationships between individuals. An imbalance that manifests itself in the maltreatment to oneself and to the other, in a context dominated by an ideology that fosters madness and confusion.
